Hempel needed a Swedish translation of their corporate brochure. The instructions were clear: the text must not sound as a translation. The message should be the same, but the wording and sentence structure should be adapted for a fluent and appealing Swedish text.
Since protective coatings is not my area of expertise, I teamed up with long-time technical translator Mikael Adolfsson to produce a translation that was both technically accurate and nice to read.
Hempel’s Swedish representative advised us on preferred terminology, reviewed the translation and was happy with the result. The brochure has now been printed and is handed out to existing and prospective clients.
Below are a couple of pages from the brochure. Click here to see the English and Swedish texts side by side.
